How bookings, PayU checkout, pickup deposits, vendor KYC, and trip chat work on EasyRentWheels.
- What documents are required for booking?
- Bring a valid driving licence and a government-issued photo ID to pickup. Your host may verify these before handover. You can book online first — guest checkout only needs name, email, and an Indian mobile number.
- How do Full and Partial payments work?
- Full payment: you pay the rent online via PayU; the refundable security deposit is due in cash at pickup. Partial payment: you pay the platform’s advance (commission) online; remaining rent plus the deposit are due at pickup. Your host confirms collection when they start the trip.
- How does the security deposit work?
- Each listing shows a refundable security deposit. It is not charged with your online PayU payment. Pay it to the host at pickup. After return and inspection, the host handles the cash deposit directly — EasyRentWheels does not refund deposits through PayU.
- Is my booking confirmed as soon as I pay?
- No. After a successful online payment the booking stays awaiting host confirmation. The host must Confirm booking. If they reject a paid request, the deducted online amount is returned to your account within 48 hours.
- What is the fuel policy for rentals?
- Fuel type is listed on every vehicle (petrol, diesel, CNG, electric, hybrid, and others). Return the vehicle with the fuel level agreed with your host — check the listing terms or booking chat before pickup.
- What happens if I exceed the included kilometres or return late?
- Listings may include a km-per-day limit and extra-km charge. Late returns and excess km can be billed as extra charges on the booking. You will see them in the app, and they are handled through the platform.
- How does booking on EasyRentWheels work?
- Search by city and dates, open an approved listing, choose Full or Partial payment, and pay the online amount via PayU. After the host confirms, coordinate pickup. At handover the host records photos and collects any cash due (deposit and remaining rent if you chose Partial).
- Can I book without creating an account?
- Yes. Guest checkout uses name, email, and phone. You get a confirmation email with a status link. Registering later still requires a unique email and mobile number.
- Are payments secure?
- Online amounts are processed through PayU. EasyRentWheels does not store your full card details. Cash due at pickup is settled directly with the host and acknowledged when they mark the trip active.
- How do I become a vendor?
- Register as a vendor, verify with OTP, complete KYC (admin approval), then add each vehicle with photos, pricing, location, and terms. Listings go live only after admin approval. You then confirm bookings, start trips with handover photos, mark them completed, and request payouts after saving bank details.
- Are vendors and vehicles verified?
- Yes. Vendors complete KYC and each vehicle is reviewed before it appears in search. Bookings require an approved vendor and an approved vehicle.
- How do I contact my host?
- After you have a booking, use in-app chat on the booking page (also available as a chat button on web). Chat stays open through the active trip and closes when the booking is cancelled, rejected, completed, or expired awaiting confirmation.
